in this page, the boat trip from Amsterdam to the fishermen's village Arnemuiden for the 'water memory mapping' exhibition (20/05/2005-02/06/2005) is reported with pictures and some texts on daily bases. during the journey, diary was updated from the boat.
after june 10th
on june 10th, the boat had arrived back in Zoutkamp. i imagine the summer season the boat will be travelling around the north area of Holland...
june 3rd, friday
the exhibition is over. today we pack everything and go back to amsterdam. ayumi is going to go back to germany. the boat will stay one more day in Arnemuiden and it will travel back to Zoutkamp.
ayumi took the train (city night train) back to germany this night... i hope she got back safely.
this is schiphol... we drove back to amsterdam with the car. instead of 8 days on the water, it takes 2.5 hours to get back to where we started. amazing. the contrast between waterway for the boat and the road for the car... that we felt strongly on the way back.
oooohhh the boat is empty again!!
good-bye gerard the skipper
june 2nd thursday
so, today is the last day of the exhibition. it rained really hard last night, but it stays warm. it is a grey day.. but somehow it suits the last day of the whole trip.

such a cute dance!
sometimes potential audience is so close by, but they prefer eating icecreams in the shadow than taking a look inside the boat....

this kind of big bridge opens only for us. when you think that it is free of charge, you are amazed how much Holland invests in water traffic. we are simply stopping the car traffic like this. lots of buses and trucks.
